There are a lot of rumors flying around All-Star weekend in New Orleans, the most likely about DeMarcus Cousins headed to New Orleans for players, picks and what not.
But the one that has Indiana interested in Brook Lopez —and offering a 2017 first rounder, Al Jefferson and Rodney Stuckey— doesn’t seem to have legs. Peter Vecsey, who left the New York Post a few years back —but still has NBA contacts, tweeted this just before midnight.
I leave u with this: Pacers R trying 2 get Lopez. Will their 2017 No. 1, Jefferson & Stuckey satisfy BK? Can Nets get more from C's or NO?

But such a proposal doesn’t make sense. It would seem less than what the Nets would want for Lopez. Both players mentioned are on the downside of their careers —with only one start between them this season. Neither have expiring deals. Jefferson, 32, still have two years left on his contract after this, $9.7 million next season and $10 million in 2018-19, only $1 million of which is guaranteed. Stuckey, 30, has a $7 million player option next season. Neither are starting or averaging 10 points a game. Stuckey has played only 25 games this season. The Pacers pick is likely a low lottery pick.
Expect things to heat up Wednesday, the day before the deadline.
