While the Nets were losing to the Pacers in Indiana’s capital, the Long Island Nets were losing to the Pacers’ D-League team, the Mad Ants, in Fort Wayne, 125 miles to the northeast. Long Island is now 1-5, which is tied for the worst record in the D-League.
The final score was 120-111, but it wasn’t that close. The Mad Ants were up by 31 at the half, 78-47. The Long Islanders tried in the second half, but never got closer than nine, the final margin, twice.
Once again, Carrick Felix, the 6’6” swingman, led the young Nets. Felix, 26, scored 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting (1-of-5 from three) to go along with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Felix is now averaging 17.6 points per game.
He also hit the highlight shot of the night for the Long Islanders, a buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter...

Six other Nets finished in double figures. J.J. Moore, the former Pitt and Rutgers shooting guard, had 18. Boris Dallo, the French guard, scored 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out two assists, but he shot only 1-of-5 from three. Dallo hurt his nose in a fall vs. Wednesday. Donnie McGrath, the Nets point guard, did not play.
Beau Beech continued his poor shooting, hitting only 1-of-6 shots.
For the Mad Ants, the leading scorer was Alex Poythress, the 6’7” Kentucky product, who shot 12-of-16. He finished with 29.
