Making Moves Because Nothing is Happening

Right now there is nothing going on with the Nets to my knowledge, so I just want to give my opinion on this team pre training camp. The hiring of Lionel Hollings I like. He brings his defensive mind to a team that is more offensive oriented. There have been to many times this team has given away double digit leads to either lose or barely pull out the win. Like last year I don't believe this team will click until the second half of the season. Not to mention the health of this team will play a big role.

When Billy King took over for Rod Thorn I felt as though that was a huge mistake. What came next was bad decision after another. He was a man given a green light to do what he wanted to bring a championship to the Nets no matter the cost. But in the end it cost us a future. Now this team is targeting free agency in 2016 and need to make cap space to target a star player. In the process he has made what I like to call make up moves. In the draft as well in a trade with Cleveland landing their last years first round pick. Someone they wanted to pick last year. Good moves but late.

What is next for this team in my eyes. First lets start with my projected starting lineup. PG: Deron Williams SG: Joe Johnson SF: Andrei Kirilenko PF: Kevin Garnett C: Brook Lopez. When healthy this is a lineup that is capable of going against most starting lineups in the league. As for the bench there are a lot of question marks with so much turn over. I like that they are younger but to me there are to many players that play guard and that includes the tweeners at SF. Saying this helps me get to my point. What needs to be done next. The next move in my eyes is to trade away Marquis Teague and Jorge Gutierrez. Why? We need a big who can rebound, box out and alter shoots around the rim. The team can either trade those two for someone riding the bench or through free agency. Also by trading those two you can either open up one or two roster spots for free agents or sign your rookies with one opening left for someone like Adonis Thomas. He needs to be on this roster this year and signed for a three to four year deal that includes either a player or team option. Keep this youth movement going while we still have experienced vets to teach along with the coach. It's easy to say but harder to do.

Keeping in mind the salary and the fact that the Nets are one of the WORST REBOUNDING TEAMS in the league last year. What would you do? Trade or sign someone to fill that last spot of the roster?
