This is a quick summary of the off season in my eyes.
So far, I have seen the good, the bad, and the downright disgusting. The good being the new prospects in Markel Brown, Xavier Thames, and Cory Jefferson, which gets me excited to see new prospects come in after having no draft picks what so ever. The bad in seeing Shaun Livingston leaving as he was one of my personally favorite players to cheer for as he brought emotion, and always played hard. The disgusting in seeing the Jason Kidd fiasco. To me it is like a little kid, pun not intended, trying to get ice cream cone. You give him/her one ice cream cone, you make him happy, but when you say no to the ice cream cone then it becomes a problem for the little kid because he/she will pout, scream, kick and cry until he gets it. Sending him off for draft picks was smart, but what would have been poetic justice would be to "reassign" him to do the daily reports, and promote Lawrence Frank to head coach, albeit that will not happen anytime soon, as Frank is a great assistant, but not the best of head coaches. Does it tarnish Kidd's legacy? As a player it does not, but as a head coach, and a person, it makes me want to run up to him and knee him in the groin, and punch him in the face. On top of that, think about why did we hire this guy, since he already turned his back to the Nets franchise once, now twice, despicable, putrid awfulness.
Lionel Hollins comes in though which I actually really like the hire, as he is both humble, and tough. I think that he will be great for the team.
Finally, the three team made makes me happy because we now have stability at the back up guard spot, and another young prospect.
Thanks for reading.
