Hire Lionel Hollins as head coach.
Nets get: F Josh Smith, SG OJ Mayo, 2015 1st Round Pick (from MIL, top 3 protected), 2016 1st Round Pick (from DET, top 5 protected)
So a lot of moving parts, but at the same time it makes sense for each team. The Thunder get some front line help and get rid of Perkins in the same move. The Pistons get out from underneath that Josh Smith contract and acquire some swingman help at the expense of a top 5 protected 2016 1st Round Pick. The Bucks get their man in Kidd, Garnett agrees to play out his contract year for Kidd in Milwaukee while mentoring Jabari Parker, and the team acquires Kidd-favorite Shaun Livingston in a sign-and-trade; to avoid potential tampering charges, the Bucks agree to a top 3 protected 2015 1st Round Pick as "compensation". The Nets take on the salaries of Josh Smith and OJ Mayo but acquire two future 1st Round Picks that will help refill the cupboard when it comes to the team's assets.
So afterwards, the Nets still have some appealing expiring contracts in SG Marcus Thornton and F Andrei Kirilenko that can be used in other potential trades. And one other move I'd consider likely is the Nets signing-and-trading SF Paul Pierce to the Clippers for a small forward (Matt Barnes or Jared Dudley) with some draft selection compensation included as well.
