NYT: Nets mission to turn Knicks fans into Nets fans worked - in 8 zip codes.

I grew up in Canarsie, and it's shaded black in the NYT map (based on Facebook likes), so I'm somewhat happy. Where I live now is seemingly Knicks territory, but then again so is nearly all of the tri-state area for that matter.

Mapping Basketball Nation

Nowhere in New Jersey are the Nets the #1 team. Nowhere outside of Brooklyn. So the usual suspects who whine about leaving Izod should build a bridge to Brooklyn and get over it.

In very few locations outside of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island (where they're usually #2) do the Nets even crack the top 3. Long Island, Queens, and New Jersey, our former supposed homebases, do not care for the team at all, according to this data. Nor, understandably, does the Boogie Down Bronx, which is a bit further from Barclays than from the self-proclaimed Mecca.
