Heat 94 Nets 82: Game two efficiency (and lack of)

The grades for the Nets starters in game two of the series.

Efficiency

Livingston

17

Johnson

13

Garnett

13

Pierce

11

Williams

2

The late Martin Manley who developed the efficiency adopted by the NBA broke the numbers into categories:

30 plus – superstar

25-30 - all-star

20-24- very good

15-19- good

10-14- role player

Under 10 – bench player

This is not to put the entire blame on him but given his performance, no surprise Deron Williams was in the latter category. In fact, his six assists kept his efficiency out of the red.

What now? Mathematics tell us the Nets must win four of the next five to move on. For a moment, forget that. Focus on the next one. Get the first one in the books then move on. Address what must be done because capturing game three is vital. You cannot win four without getting that first one on the plus side of the ledger.
