Nets sign Jason Collins to a second 10-day contract

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The Brooklyn Nets announced that they have signed Jason Collins to a second 10-day contract. It was expected that when Collins' first 10-day contract was up -- as of midnight, Wednesday morning -- he would be re-signed to a second 10-day contract.

Collins has appeared in five games for the Nets this season, scoring three points and pulling down five rebounds in 36 total minutes.

Once his second 10-day contract is up, the Nets will then have to decide whether or not to sign him for the remainder of the season or to let him walk. Barring injuries, expect him to be signed for the remainder of the season.
