Oh, Jeez. This is what I was worried about.

According to ESPN, the Nets are considering bringing back Jason Collins.

I more-or-less called it. He's ancient. He can't play at a NBA level. He'll only be a distraction, as the media anoints him The First Gay Player in the NBA™, go to interview him, and ask his teammates about him in every city, and then of course, the media will complain that he isn't getting used enough. That's not to say that a young, talented LGBT player doesn't belong in the league, but in his case, it's just baggage.

I loved the two finals runs. I hold everyone from those teams in good regard and wouldn't mind him coming on as a coach for the Nets... but the last thing we need is to waste a roster spot we got from dumping our garbage... on someone who can't contribute.

I really don't see any upside, other than maybe getting more people to root for the Nets merely on principle.
