The Lineup That Will Win Us Games

PG: Deron Williams, Darius Morris, Markel Brown

SG: Joe Johnson, Jarrett Jack, Alan Anderson

SF: Sergey Karasev, Bojan Bogdanovic, Cory Jefferson

PF: Kevin Garnett, Mirza Teletovic, Brandon Davies

C: Brook Lopez, Mason Plumlee, Jerome Jordan

Changes and why?

Okay, let's break down the one first. Jarrett Jack cannot play point guard. He's definitely more of a shooter and plays the two much better. He wouldn't need to play with D-Will on the same court either considering he's backing up Joe Johnson. Darius Morris would be an excellent backup at the one. He has a high IQ with very quick feet.

Now, let's move to the two. Joe Johnson needs to stop playing small forward. He can't guard small forwards, and small forwards can guard him. Not a great mix. At least at shooting guard, he'd be able to back down other shooting guards and get easy buckets. Defense will still be tough for him but standing at 6 ft 8, as long as he can put his hand up, the shorter opponent will have a harder time getting the shot off.

Sergey Karasev at the three could work. He's a decent defender, and can easily shoot the ball. Although, he's not quick enough to stay in front of other shooting guards. At least with small forwards, he can play pesty defense. Cory Jefferson would be an ideal third string small forward for defense and energy reasons. We usually get tired by the third and fourth quarter, but saving Jefferson for that time would give Brooklyn that needed boost. Sure, he has no business handling the ball, but defense and his long wingspan alone will help. And it's not like he's never played that position before.

Moving on to the four, this really isn't a change. KG is always going to be our starting power forward, Teletovic can back him up, and Davies is the third stringer.

Lastly, here's the five. And again, nothing different. However, I feel Brook Lopez coming back will be what we need. He was just starting to get in a groove and buying into the new system (the Spurs win) before the minor back injury, and we definitely need his low post scoring and rim protecting to win games. Plumlee has been doing very good in his absence, but Plumlee didn't have anyone to back up his scoring production (although Jerome Jordan was solid). Now that we'll be having Lopez back soon, hopefully Sunday, we'll be having our season turnaround.
