Making the Case for Mirza Teletovic for the NBA 3-point competition

The Bosnian with a sweet jump shot is finally taking advantage of his minutes.

On Friday, Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic erupted, scoring a career high 34 points against the Dallas Mavericks. A majority of Teletovic's points came in the second quarter, in which he scored 24 points, including six consecutive three-pointers. Although Mirza Teletovic was considered one of the most elite shooters in the game before coming to NBA, he did not meet up with the hype. He failed to gain rhythm and did not fit well into the Nets' rotation. This year, Mirza Teletovic is averaging 43.6 percent from three point range, and an outrageous 47.5% in the month of January. Although Teletovic currently ranks #8 on NBA.com three-point percentage leaders, he has attempted more threes than all but three players in the top ten. With a strong finish in the month of January, I expect the Bosnian to make his debut in all star weekend, as part of the three-point shootout.
