Will This Trade Keep Us at the #4 Spot in the Eastern Conference?

A ton of analysts all over the sports media networks are all saying that this Nets trade still does not put us into that upper third of the Eastern Conference. Now, what's to say they know what they are talking about? Sure we are an older team with veteran leadership and that may bite us in the butt, but we are a team full of talent that WHEN HEALTHY can compete with the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Now, I want to go through the Pacers and the Bulls to show you how we can defeat them in a 7 game series and why analysts around the league and around sports media in general, are underestimating the noise the Nets can make.

Indiana Pacers: The Pacers are definitely a team with size and with a defensive mindset, set forth by their highly underrated coach Frank Vogul. Now, the Nets beat the Pacers in the two meetings we had against them because of good guard play, the size of Joe Johnson against defenders like Stephenson, and the presence of Brook Lopez on the offensive end. Now, while CJ Watson will be their backup PG and with David West resigning, they STILL do not have enough offense to match up against us.

Chicago Bulls: The Chicago Bulls on the other hand are a much different animal. With the heart of players like Joakim Noah, Nate Robinson (if he DOES re-sign) and the return of Derrick Rose, the Bulls are going to be a dangerous team. But with one of the Nets killers likely gone do to the signing of Mike Dunleavy, Marco Bellineli won't be in the black & red next season. I think with the match intensity of KG, PP and the JET, along with the uncertainty of Luol Deng, I think the Nets will have that "Game 1" performance hopefully throughout the entire 2014 playoffs if we match up against Thibs' Bulls.

Let me know what you think! It's still a bit early to predict, but those are the expectations the Nets now face in New York being the better team (currently on paper) in this big bad city.

Enjoy the offseason Nets fans!
