As universally hated as his contract was, let's give it up for Gerald Wallace. The man was a big part of why Deron Williams stayed with the team, and every time he went out there he put it all on the court. Though he was only here for a year and a half, he was an absolute joy to watch, someone who never quit on the team and often times provided the spark necessary to get a run going. Even after being used in a steadily declining role under Avery Johnson and P. J. Carlisimo, to the point where he reportedly had no clue what his role was on the team, Wallace turned in a strong performance in the Nets' first round series against Chicago and played a big part in the team forcing a game 7. His attitude, intensity and work ethic will be missed, a little bit more than his $10 million salary.
We'll miss you Gerald!
