Would Larry Brown take Brooklyn Nets job? Dallas writer says, "Duh"

USA TODAY Sports

Larry Brown was born in Brooklyn. Larry Brown was the Nets coach for nearly two years in the 1980's and had a .537 winning percentage. Larry Brown is in the Hall of Fame. Larry Brown gave Billy King his first break and King often quotes him. But Larry Brown is under contract at SMU.

In a chat Thursday, Kevin Sherrington of the Dallas Morning News was asked if Brown would take the Nets job if offered (and there's no indication he has been.)

"Larry has done a lot to turn around SMU in a short time. He's made inroads in Dallas recruiting, getting Keith Frazier," Sherrington noted before opinining, "But if the Nets offer him, I can't imagine he'd stay. He's an NBA coach."
