I think I can speak for every Nets fan on this forum; this has been a very very disappointing start to our season. We're 3-7 with one of the ugliest offenses and slow & old defenses in the league. OBVIOUSLY if we continue at this rate, no way do we make the playoffs. So the more we stink it up, everybody's thinking trade... because there's no tanking anymore for us! As I go through our main pieces, I think what is so enticing about any of these guys? This is why I made this post, for other fans to express what they think could be a realistic trade or why you guys believe this player mar or may NOT have trade value.
Deron Williams: Yes his ankles are very bad. It's a given at this point, but would teams be willing to take a risk on him? & could we actually get value back? Would Billy even get rid of DWill? I mean, can't blame him fully but him in a Brooklyn jersey hasn't been much to talk about.. (Besides the injuries).
Joe Johnson: Contract.. Ughhhhh Maybe we'll talk to Danny Ainge!
Paul Pierce & Kevin Garnett: With their contracts, and skill at this stage of the game who would want them? If I'm not mistaken, KG isn't even apart of this argument because of a no-trade clause in his contact. Sigh.
Brook Lopez: A big reason why I started thinking about this topic. I was watching ESPN and I heard the ridiculous Bill Simmonds mention Lopez being traded. Sure he has plenty of value. To me, this is the one sure thing we have in this organization. I mean we've seen it pretty loud and clear since he's gotten hurt we SUCK without him. Even with him we were hard to watch but at least we competed. I don't want to trade Brook, unless they offer something we can't refuse.
Bench: Alan Anderson, Livingston, Plumlee all have some value.. Probably not much though. Would hate to lose these guys being they are the only ones who look like they give a dam out there. Doubt any of them would go, but I can't see Terry, AK, TT, Toko having much value. Mirza could definitely get some interest around the league, but without playing this year, what would they give up for him?
I'll do anything to see this team be successful. I'm just curious to what other people think of this.. Go Nets
P.S. I really hope we don't see any home sellouts until this team starts winning because this product they put out there is not worth my paycheck.
