Paul Pierce won't be in the lineup Monday night vs. the Sixers in Philadelphia. He's physically fine but is sitting out of routine maintenance reports Jason Kidd. Alan Anderson will start in his place.
That means the Nets will be without Pierce, Deron Williams, Andrei Kirilenko, Tyshawn Taylor, Tornike Shengelia, Jason Terry, Jorge Gutierrez will all sit. Kirilenko, suffering from back spasms, didn't travel. D-Will did.
Kevin Garnett will play but left the minutes to his coach.
KG on how much he'll play tonight: "I’m not Jason Kidd. I’m Kevin Garnett. I don’t put myself into the game, nor do I take myself out."— Tim Bontemps (@TimBontemps) October 14, 2013
Garnett also spoke about how much he likes having Reggie Evans as a teammate
Kevin Garnett said besides Pierce & Terry coming with him to #Nets, another deciding factor was "Reggie Evans had to be on the roster."— Rod Boone (@rodboone) October 14, 2013
The only player offering a prognosis on his return was Taylor, still in in a walking boot.
Tyshawn told me he's targeting a return later this week, but it's not up to him. Thinks he'll definitely be ready next week. #Nets— Rod Boone (@rodboone) October 14, 2013

Meanwhile, Garnett reacted to the NBA using him in an instructional video describing illegal picks. "Because I'm the best pick-setter in the league. I understand that," he said.
