Brooklyn Pol Pressures Nets To Move
The Nets would rather not have any more pressure on them to pick a site for their new training facility. Foggetaboutit! Boro President Marty Markowitz wants the Nets all-in on Brooklyn. "A Brooklyn training complex would provide a great assist to the arena," Markowitz told Crain's New York Business. "The team that plays together should practice together—in their home city of Brooklyn." The team is looking at several locations, factoring in access to airport, the arena and residential choices for players and employees...not to mention finances. A new training facility would cost tens of millions of dollars and take two years to site, design and build. Until then, they stay in New Jersey.
