On Friday, September 21, at 9:30 a.m., Bruce Ratner will complete a nine-year long goal when he snips the ribbon at the corner of Flatbush and Atlantic avenues in Brooklyn, the ceremonial unveiling of Barclays Center.

Ratner will be joined by Mikhail Prokhorov, Brett Yormark, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Borough President Marty Markowitz, Barclays Executive Thomas L. Kalaris and other government officials and community leaders to mark the occasion. Ratner first proposed the arena in the summer of 2003.

The ceremony will be followed by a press tour of the facility, which is racing to finish before Opening Night a week later when Jay-Z steps on stage for the first of eight sold-out concerts.
