Wallace Contract 6th "Most Toxic"

Stay connected for news and updates

Sporting News Sean Deveney ranks the NBA's 10 "most toxic" contracts, which he describes as "unmoveable." In that ranking, he puts Gerald Wallace's four-year, $40 million in the sixth position. "That is not a terribly unreasonable contract," writes Deveney. "But considering Wallace just turned 30 and seemed to take a step back last year, this is not a contract other teams would be eager to acquire."

Deveney also notes that in previous years, Joe Johnson's deal was seen as "unmoveable" too, but that proved wrong. Three players the Nets pursued in 2010 make the top 10 as well: Carlos Boozer, Tyrus Thomas and Rudy Gay.
