With a tweet and a photo on Instagram, Andray Blatche announced that he has joined the Nets, which his business manager later confirmed to ESPN New York's Jared Zwerling and his agent confirmed to Fred Kerber.
Blatche, 26, worked out for the Nets a week and a half ago and he agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract, essentially a camp invite, last week. The final decision was delayed while Blatche dealt with a business issue. Should he make the team, he will be paid $1.15 million. Blatche was amnestied by Washington, where he played for seven years. The Wizards agreed to waive him and pay him what's left on his five year deal: $23 million over three years.
No official word on Josh Childress. He agreed Tuesday to the same terms as Blatche.
