I am not trying to take up space on the board by stating what may seem pretty obvious, but I had an experience last night that I want to share with everyone. I was out and I met a girl from Brooklyn who told me that she was not excited about the Nets moving to "her city" because of how much hysteria there is surrounding the team. But she is also not a basketball fan. She said that everyone is really pumped up and that many people are going crazy saying things like "we now have a professional basketball team, that's my team, I can't wait for opening night!" Perhaps putting the band wagon fans aside for a moment, I think it's awesome that people are finally getting excited about the Nets.

Living in New Jersey and being a die hard Nets fan all my life, I was sad to see them go. However, I always had a "glass half full" mentality because they were moving close by and still going by the name "The Nets." I did not feel like my team was really gone at all. Look at what happened to the Seattle Supersonics. If the Nets had to move, the move and the change could have been infinitely worse.

I am now anxiously awaiting the start of the season and I see that the Brooklyn move was 100% the right thing for our team and this organization. We are finally building a strong fan base and we finally have the ownership and the allure to build a Championship team. Just from being on NetsDaily all summer, I have been unbelievably excited, but hearing it straight from someone who lives in Brooklyn made me even more pumped up. The start of the season can't come fast enough!
