Will Popeye Do Some Scouting in Africa?
When C.J. Watson arrived Tuesday in South Africa for Basketball Without Borders Africa, he joined former Net Dikembe Mutombo and also assistant coach Popeye Jones for the event which begins Thursday. The big feature of the tour is a camp for the 60 top under-18 players on the continent, selected by FIBA and the NBA. Jones will help run camp and get a first-hand view of the players. You never knew what you'll find. In the decade plus that BWB camps have been run around the world, 21 former campers have been drafted by the NBA.
