What playoff team of the past do we most resemble?

I don't believe we're the new Hawks, so what are we? What playoff team of the past do you think this team most resembles? I not trolling, but I think we most resemble the Dwight-led magic.

We have a franchise player (Deron), who, while dominant is very flawed, and MIGHT not be the player that can lead a team to a title. We're built around two overpaid former-allstars, we have a nice young and arguably top tier bench, we're capped out and have little flexibility moving forward. In other words, these are our Nets, for better or worse, and this team won't likely change in the next few years.

So what does this mean for the Nets, what can they do to not stagnate like the Magic did?

1) Brook Lopez - The Magic's future at the time was pretty much set and solely dependent on the development of Dwight Howard, his ability to carry the offense and defense, shoot free throws and everything else, made or broke that team, and with his abilities already established, improvement was simply unlikely. Brook on the other hand, isn't the best player on our team, his role is important, but he isn't the one carrying this team and he has far more to improve upon that Dwight, in short, Brook's improvement can really take us from pretenders to contenders, that's why we're not the Hawks or the Magic, because we can still get better

2) Marshon and Tele - same as above, we need to utilize, these two players to their maximum potential. The player that most parallel these two is Ryan Anderson. Anderson was an underutilized role player that some teams have been drooling over based solely on potential. Yet he was never given the chance to blossom until Lewis was traded. The Nets need to give Marshon and Teletovic as much minutes as possible, if JJ gets lazy and Marshon shows he is better, JJ must get benched, everyone's replaceable.

3)Crash and JJ - Deron needs to prove he's about winning, by keeping these two motivated. Dwight Howard simply wasn't the leader that brought out the best effort from his teammates, Dwill can't be like that.

Overall, though, to see major improvements from our young players, is very optimistic, and we could very easily fail miserably in our quest for a title,

We need to learn from the failures of other teams, so what past team do we resemble, and what do you think we can learn from them?
