Stories, Pictures, and Videos of Brook Lopez at the NBA Philippines Event

Being a huge Nets (and Lopez) fan, there's no way that I'm going to miss the NBA Philippines event that featured Brook Lopez. So I made a 2 hour drive in order to see him. Thanks to the very relaxed atmosphere, I was able to get an up close look of Lopez.

I know that some people here are saying that he's put on some weight, and I saw that he put on at least 10 lbs. His arms are still not massive, but they're lean and they look strong. Here are some pictures:

I was also pleasantly surprised to see him as a genuinely nice guy. After facilitating the 3 on 3 practice, I was expecting him to go somewhere where he can rest especially since it was humid out there. What he did was he sat down next to a kid in a wheelchair, and talked to him for about an hour. It was not your usual athlete photo op wherein the athlete poses for some pictures and gives out autographs. He sat down on the floor next to the kid and talked to him as if he's his little brother. He was asked to transfer to a couch, but still continued with the conversation. The only time that the conversation stopped was when he was called to the court to address the fans.

Here's a picture of him talking to the kid. Not even the loud noise could stop their conversation.

Overall, he looks really good out there. He doesn't look like he was favoring one foot or the other. He even participated in the 2 ball event and he swished some jumpers.

He's also a kid at heart. When Stuff, the Magic's mascot, was called to do some dunks off of trampolines, he was intently watching. He clapped his hands like a kid after some awesome dunks. You'd think that he's sick of all those dunks. He also oohed and aaahed with the crowd. I didn't take pictures and videos of Stuff because I don't care much about the Magic these days.

Also, he showed how huge of a Batman fan he is. As he's making his way to the court, high-fiving fans, he stopped at a random dude and touched the design in front of the shirt. Yes, it was a Batman logo.

Here's a video of his message.

Afterwards, he participated at the 2 ball event. Here's a video:

I wanted to approach Lopez and talk to him, but there's a huge bouncer in front of him and I wasn't in the mood to have my ass kicked. During the time that the bouncer relaxed, I couldn't find it in me to interrupt Brook's conversation with the kid.

I hope you enjoyed my share!
