We've always looked at the off-season this way: the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. A lot of the players signed or retained find themselves in a better place because of who's surrounding them. Joe Johnson hasn't played with a top-flight point guard since Steve Nash. Deron WIlliams notes he's never played with a guard like JJ.

Brook Lopez has never played with a cast of veterans like Billy King has assembled. Gerald Wallace has never played with as high powered an offense. As long as they stay healthy, there's enough firepower to get the job done. Now, Devin Kharpertian dives deep in Joe Johnson's stat sheet and playbook and offers details on how the Nets can use him in situations both familiar and new.
