Dwight Howard may want to join the Nets and become part of the "rejuvenation opportunity" Brooklyn represents but talks continue between the Magic and Nets, and now other teams. According to various reports, most notably this tweet by David Aldridge, "there is no imminent deal" and Marc J. Spears tweets, the Nets chances are no better than "a 30 percent chance."
Moreover, says Spears, the Nets are getting impatient. He tweeted early Saturday morning that "Nets have '30 percent chance' of landing Dwight in trade but likely would turn attention to FAs if it cant be done in a week, source tells Y!." Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated had also reported on the possibility of a Nets-imposed deadline earlier Friday.
The Nets have only seven players either under contract or committed and limited cap space to fill the other spots. The Nets would like to get Brook Lopez, Gerald Green and Kris Humphries situations resolved, possibly pursue Ersan Ilyasova and find back-ups at every position other than shooting guard.
Still, as Brett Yormark tweets Saturday, "It was a great week for brooklyn nets fans. I am excited about the future."
