As the Nets try to build a roster out of all-stars, they will meet Sunday with Gerald Green, a player they considered a "core" piece a few months back but now are having a hard time fitting in. Peter Vecsey tweets that the Nets won't be the only team to meet with him in the next few days. Both the Bulls and Pacers have interest in the 6'8" Green.
"Gerald Green met with Pacers and will meet with Bulls," Vecsey tweeted Friday. "On Nets calendar for Sunday."
As noted, the Nets will need to be either very creative with the cap or get a favorable interpretation of the CBA to offer Green more than $1.19 million, the most they can give him without squeezing him to an increasingly tight salary cap or the team's exceptions.
