Less than a week ago, I made a FanPost calling for Billy King's head. In the aftermath of the Joe Johnson, I was furious that we had given away our future flexibility and cap space for a player who I believed was not worth it.
Well, I'm here to admit that I was completely and totally wrong.
In light of Deron Williams' recent comments that the Joe Johnson trade kept him here, I have to issue an apology to Billy. In my post, I thought that Deron would see the JJ trade, realize we had no flexibility and no chance to get Dwight, and leave.
I was wrong. He saw the trade as a trade for an all-star, not a trade that took up our future cap space. And, the best part, is that we still have flexibility to add players like Evans, Teletovic, maybe Ilyasova, and hopefully Dwight Howard. Proky is clearly not afraid to pay the luxury tax, so I believe we're in a much better position because of BIlly's gambling.
So, I'm sorry Billy, I admire the work you've done for our franchise and hope you can continue to improve the team.
