Before Tyshawn Taylor left for Orlando and the summer league, he got some business taken care of, signing his first NBA contract. The Nets signed the Hoboken, NJ native. As a second rounder, he can negotiate outside the rookie salary scale, but it's more likely he's getting league minimum for a rookie, a little less than $500,000.

Taylor's draft rights were purchased from Portland on Draft Night. Taylor was taken #41, out of Kansas. He averaged 16.8 points and 4.8 assists, hitting for higher averages when Kansas played a ranked team. He was the Jayhawks' leading scorer with 19 in the NCAA title game vs. Kentucky. He won the national high school title with St. Anthony's of Jersey City in 2008 and the FIBA Under 19 world championship in 2009.
