Seriously - I love Dwight's game, and I think he makes the Nets instant championship contenders, BUT...I am pretty much ready to move on. I think the Nets have been patient enough with the Magic brass, who, frankly, appear to be clueless right now. I think the Nets offer is more than fair, given the circumstances. And I am starting to worry that waiting for something to happen may hurt this team and cause it to lose some valuable pieces (E.G., Green). With the $107 million and another $20 million plus in luxury tax it would require to obtain Dwight's services, the Nets can field a really, really deep team that can contend year after year.
Also - I am not really that scared about the Lakers. If Dwight wants to go there, let him. Nash is 38, Kobe is 34 (with a lot of mileage), half the team is on the wrong side of 30. They have a very short window to win, and after that, Dwight will be back in the same situation he was in with the Magic - the best player on an overpaid, aging team. If he doesn't see that the Nets have a brighter future then forget him.
So, who else is ready to jump off the Dwight train and move on?
