Brooklyn Nets
The Monday after their Friday press conference and celebration at Brooklyn's Borough Hall, the Nets sought trademark protection for the term "Brooklyn's Backcourt", indicating they intend to capitalize on the combination of Deron Williams and Joe Johnson beyond basketball. Since putting them together, Nets officials have called Williams and Johnson the NBA's best backcourt.
Two applications filed by the Nets seek trademarks protection for all manner of basketball-related events as well as clothing and footwear.
