The Nets are in discussions to re-sign Kris Humphries, Billy King told the "Brooklyn's Backcourt" press conference, and Peter Vecsey tweeted there is no bidding warand the Nets may bid for Grant Hill.
"We're in negotiations now. So the goal is to re-sign him. It's going to be about money, so we've got to negotiate that part," said King. Later, King told YES Ian Eagle, ""The priority right now is re-signing Kris Humphries… And then we need a backup point." King asked the state of talks called them "close."
Vecsey tweeted, "Nets working to re-up Humphries. Contrary to reports, there is no bidding war going on. He wants to return. $ & yrs being worked on." Thursday, Marc Stein reported the Bobcats and Nets were in a "bidding war,"with the Nets offering $24 million and the Bobcats two million less.
Beyond Hump, Vecsey added, "Nets also are considering signing Grant Hill. You'd think Lakers (Nash) and ultimately Rockets (w/Howard) would want him. No offers yet.
