Brook Lopez: 2012 MIP for the Brooklyn Nets

How disrespected do I feel if I'm Brook Lopez right now? All anyone wants to do is bash me and include me in trade talks when I'm a free agent and have no obligation to oblige. I got mono a few years ago that sapped my strength before the season started and it screwed me up for the year. Can't build up strength in the middle of a season. Everyone thinks I'm a garbage rebounder. It's completely unfair. But you know what? He's going to show up more motivated than anyone to have an incredible year.

People seem to have forgotten that Brook Lopez averaged over 8 rebounds a game in his first 2 seasons in the league. And he has always been a potent offensive threat. When he gets the chance to play with Deron Williams and Joe Johnson (and I believe he will), people are going to find out how great this guy can be. I can't wait to see that happen.

In Brook's rookie year, he thrived playing with Devin Harris and Vince Carter. This backcourt is twice as good as that one was. The double teams will be gone in the post. Brook is going to have the opportunity to show off his skill at the end. And as far the rebounding is concerned, all reports indicate this guy is building up muscle and is going to be in a much better situation down low in that respect. Same thing on the defensive end.

Keep on disrespecting Brook Lopez. I dare you...
