Saying the Nets came out of the free agency gate fast with the signing of Gerald Wallace, David Aldridge reports on NBA TV's "Free Agency Fever" that Nets are increasingly confident about their chances with Deron Williams

Obviously we'll all find out together in the next day or so but certainly I think the Nets' opportunities are better now than they were a couple of days ago. They feel a little bit more confident than they did a few days ago.

His rationale: the Nets are moving on a number of fronts. On the Joe Johnson front, Aldridge said it's "one of many different scenarios they're talking about. I don't know if any of them are any more forward tha the other." Aldridge comments follow the break.

My experience generally has been if a guy doesn't leave in the first minute he has a chance to leave then he's usually not going to leave.

You know I'm starting to get that vibe. Obviously we'll all find out together in the next day or so but certainly I think the Nets opportunities are better now than they were a couple of days ago. They feel a little bit more confident than they did a few days ago.

That is one of many different scenarios they're talking about. I don't know if any of them are any more forward tha the other. Right now, they would like the Hawks to take on a couple fo free agents like Gerald Green or Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade deal that would get more assets their way. they want to hold on to some of their younger players. But they're talking to a lot of teams about a lot of different things. it could happen but there are a lot of different possibilities out there.

Now for the next 24 or 36 hours, their sole attention has been on Deron Williams and what they have to do to make him happy.
