In a column on the best over-30 free agents, Ric Bucher quotes an Eastern Conference GM on the risks of signing the 30-year-old Gerald Wallace to a long-term contract. Will his athleticism wane and if it does, does his game drop off as well?

"His game is predicated on getting to the rim," one Eastern Conference executive said. "When does that stop? He's not going to put his elbow above the rim for the next four years. The more skill you have, the longer your value lasts."

Bucher again writes that Steve Nash, 38, could be on the Nets radar. "The Brooklyn Nets could jump into the fray in a big way if Deron Williams doesn't re-sign.".
