I just went to orders tickets for the Islanders - Devils game in Brooklyn and I was given a seating to diagram that had seating all around the rink (granted, limited, but all around). I pasted chart here for all to view...

In any event, they should allow as many seats as possible to be placed in the building. Even ones with obstructed or incomplete views. Just adjust price for those seats and add Video Screens to view obstructed areas ! Going to a live event that more people can afford ..... a win win for all.
