I expect everyone to tell me how much they hate this idea but i'm going to post it to start a discussion.

Is there a way (however unlikely) that with our current assets/roster we can trade for Elton Brand? I know most people would think we are wasting our cap space but I think he would be ideal next to Brook Lopez. He is in the final year of his contract earning $18 million which could become a tremendous trade asset or give us huge cap room next year.

I know the 76ers are interested in Kris Humphries but I think its unlikely the 76ers amnesty Brand and sign Humphries which is why I'm asking is there a way the Nets could work a sign and trade for the two of them? Can you include players in a sign and trade under the new CBA? Would a S&T of Hump, Morrow and Petro for Brand work?

I'd love to get a solid year out of Brand and then either use him at the deadline to acquire Josh Smith or Dwight or let him come off the books next season to create huge cap space.
