Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports tries his hand at ranking general managers at drafting and Billy King comes out well, finishing third behind only Sam Presti of Oklahoma City and Geoff Petrie of Sacramento. The scoring system evaluates each current general manager/decision maker that rewards those who didn't screw up a top pick, gives credit for nailing a selection later in the draft and penalizes abysmal picks as well.

King has had only one draft with the Nets. MarShon Brooks, taken #25, is ranked a "solid starter" in the rankings. In Philadelphia, King drafted Andre Iguodala (between Rafael Araujo and Luke Jackson); Lou Williams, Willie Green and Kyle Korver (after #45) and Thaddeus Young (between Acie Law and Julian Wright).
