Marshon Brook's Summer League game write up!!!! 6/19

Ok so I went to tonight's game at Baruch. Brooks played well but his team lost. He didn’t shoot particularly well, but you could tell he wasn’t playing that hard and at one point said to the guy next to me that he wasn’t driving because he was trying not to get hurt. He scored about 20. Hit 3 three pointers had a couple dunks on the break and drove by his defender a couple times for lay-ups. His shot wasn’t really on today so could see that he was rusty. He wasn’t attacking that much but he was passing very well. As for his physique he put on about 10 to 12 lbs. It was noticeable. He is not rail thin anymore. He’s still skinny but has a little muscle now.

The most important thing to me though is he did play very good defense and had a lot of bounce. I wouldn’t trade him. He can and will be a very good starter on a good team. One negative that I saw today is that he still does hold the ball too long I will try to post a couple pics that I took they aren’t the best quality but that’s all I have. Overall it was a decent performance. Oh and as for Jeff Foote. I hate to say this but I’d rather have Petro…He is not NBA backup center material not from what I saw out there. Had his shot blocked in the post by smaller defenders multiple times He has an ok jump hook but he won’t get that off in the league.
