Brian Schmitz writes in the Orlando Sentinel that it would be better if the Magic waited until training camp or even the trade deadline to deal Dwight Howard. It would be better, he writes, than accepting "Brook Lopez and some Statue of Liberty refrigerator magnets" in the next few weeks (assuming the two teams and Lopez could work a sign-and-trade.
"He can still deliver the Magic a list of teams he wants to join. And he still has the power to tell any suitor on the Magic's radar whether he'll re-sign with them or not, potentially killing any trade," adds Schmitz. "But if he wants out sooner than later, he and his agent, Dan Fegan, will have to work with the Magic instead of trying to bully them as they did last season. Howard might need to expand his list."
