Maybe it’s just too obvious; too easy. But, if the Nets want to be instant contenders, hire Phil Jackson, now. Some may argue that Jackson has no interest in coaching the Brooklyn Nets. They may be right. The reality, though, is that everyone has their price. If Jackson made $10 mil as coach of LAL, what do you think he’d say if Proky offered him 2 or 3 times that salary? I know, it sounds like a preposterous amount of money, but is it? How many hundreds of millions does the stadium cost? Hiring Phil Jackson is a luxury this team can afford. True they would have to dig deep, but they are not bound by the salary cap (and they’re one of the few teams to have the pockets to do it). Forget Dwight. Forget DWill. Hire Phil Jackson and they will follow. If the Nets want to make a statement, garner instant media attention, attract the best players, and mostly importantly set the foundation for success, they should do everything in their power to hire coach Jackson (regardless of the cost).
