A lot of people voiced their opinion at the time of the trade. There have been long thread posts on the subject now that the ping pong balls have spoken. The odds were always against retaining our top pick but we have one less asset (a potential top 3 pick) today than we did yesterday. We don't know what the team will ultimately look like when the season starts. But, here's a poll asking how we Nets fans feel now.

Trading our 1st Rounder (1-3) lightly protected pick was worth it for a few months of Wallace to show DWill our commitment to improving and to increase the likelihood that GW returns next year. (128 votes)
Trading Rockets 1st rounder (then likely a mid round pick) for Wallace should have been most offered, given that Wallace was likely to leave Portland as free agent anyway. (175 votes)
Trading either pick for Wallace constituted a bad trade anyway you slice it -- any advantages we got are more than offset with the loss of our asset. (45 votes)
