When Jay-Z and Kanye West stepped on stage over the weekend at London's O2 Arena, Jay-Z was again wearing a Brooklyn Nets cap, this one a bit more stylish than the regulation cap he wore three weeks ago in New York. It's becoming clear that the "global icon", as the Nets call him, is in all-in on promoting the team. (On hand for the unveiling: West's new best friend, the former Mrs. Kris Humphries.)
Jay's not alone. Fabolous, who grew in Bedford-Stuyvesant, told a reporter recently that he is switching allegiances, or more like half-switching. Fabolous, a Knicks fan, says his Brooklyn roots demand that he "cut the heart in half and give half to Brooklyn." Chris Mullin, basketball Hall of Famer, said much the same recently.
