The second day of the Nets Combine opens Sunday morning, with another group of 22 prospects trying to impress NBA GM's and scouts from Boston to L.A. And the basketball operations types may not only be talking talent, says Billy King. They may be talking Draft Night trades.
"If there's a guy we want, we'll do our best to get him and we'll be aggressive," said King, who made two Draft Night deals last year, one a three-team trade. "The good thing about having all these GM's and personnel here, it gets you talking, trying to make deals." The Nets currently hold the #57 pick and have a 25 percent chance at a top three pick.
Sunday will be a big day for bigs. Among those scheduled to be on hand, Robert Sacre, 7'0" of Gonzaga; Kyle O'Quinn, 6'10" of Norfolk State; JaMychal Green, 6'8" of Alabama and Justin Hamilton, 7'0" of LSU. Herb Pope, Seton Hall's 6'8" PF, will reportedly be on hand as well. Also available, 6'6" SF/PF Jae Crowder, Marquette's Big East Player of the Year. All are projected second rounders.
