Steve Nash recently made a statement in which he told Suns management that if the team isn't improved in the off-season, the face of their franchise will soon depart for greener pastures. We've heard the same from Deron Williams, from Lebron James, from Dwight Howard, almost every superstar in a situation with a road-block to the a championship has been heard at one point or another to say, "get me help!"
Today I am here to say, ENOUGH. There are way too many teams in this league and not enough good or even decent players, including the Nets. Let's say the NBA contracted the Hornets, the Kings, the Raptors and the Bobcats. Skim the 5 or 6 best players off of each of those teams and you have 20-24 players that could be distributed across the league, instantly raising the talent level and watchability of the rest of the NBA's franchises.
I know this is just a simple thought and I haven't elaborated on it much but I really made this fan-post to ask YOU- what do you think of contraction? It would make 4 fan-bases very unhappy but I would argue that in this day and age, of League Pass, of NBA TV, of YouTube (seems like more people watch highlights of Blake Griffin dunks than actual games), the NBA would be better off having a product that is more marketable across the board than simply held up by the strength of its 4 or 5 most popular teams.
