First to those of you who early on figured out the NWA references-PROPS. You know even west coast Eazy-E would be sporting the black and white 10:01 AM tomorrow were he still here. As I alluded to I have know for about a year that Adidas-Jay-Z and Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment wanted black & white. Again the NBA needed the convincing but my guess is they are already happy as this is a business a and the fact is the supply can't meet the demand.
The first I saw the final product was the same as you all and I happen to absolutely love it. Classic and will stay classic especially with success. As Elone said best all the simplicity criticism lacks the history bias that we will eventually benefit from. That's the point. This will look good in 2099 the same way the Yankee or Met NY will. Not some wanna be cool sign of the times (Raptors-original Wizards-Miami Marlins). Some of you don't yet see it but we have gone straight into a brisk power walk and boy are we ever so close to running!
Last point is you all rock. Being a Nets fan over the last 35 years is like being in the Russian army during WW2. We have taken our beatings-faced near destruction. Been oppressed but somehow and someway we endured and survived thanks to each other. God knows I owe SBN for giving me the tools to find you all.
Leaving NJ is like winning the battle of Stalingrad. Our enemies may still signal inevitable victory but it's a farce. We have reached the promise land and we have our new uniforms and identity to bring us to final victory. We are about to run.
You all helped make it happen in the face of fools like Daniel Goldstein and Norman Oder. We can now expect to see people wearing our our gear whether we are winning or losing (um Knicks STILL haven't won a playoff game in over 13 years or in real terms one bar/bat mitzvah cycle yet we as Nets fans would get strange looks for wearing our old gear?).
Sports is a form of tribalism and as we know some tribes die or change. The Nets could have had that happen but it didn't. Our tribe is on the verge of explosion and we are a big reason why. So when you see the black and white smile for you all were a part of making this happen.
