A couple days ago, for the last game in Jersey ever, my brother and I brought a couple posters to the game to hold up and try to get some attention. "Prokorov beats Cuban", "Better Shooting Background in Brooklyn", and "Deron to Brooklyn 2012" were a couple of the ones we brought.
The reason for writing this fan post is to tell Nets Nation about what happened after the game, when we got to, along with a few hundred other fans, meet the Nets players for autographs etc.
When it was my turn to give something to Deron to sign, I handed him the poster that said "Deron to Brooklyn 2012".
I said to him, "Deron I was trying to get your attention all game". This prompts him to look down and read what the poster says. After reading it he smiles, and proceeds to sign it, right smack in the middle before moving onto more fans.
I now have Deron's signature right on my personal contract that he will be in Brooklyn next year.
Obviously this "contract" doesn't have any real significance, and doesn't point to Deron's future intentions. But there is definitely some humor and maybe even irony in Deron signing a "Deron to Brooklyn" poster, and even smiling about it.
