In discussions with the AP Sports Editors, David Stern said that the Nets new arena in Brooklyn could soon host an All-Star Game, but that the competition is likely going to be the Knicks' renovated arena.

“The new building in Brooklyn is going to be terrific,” Stern said of the Nets’ new home at the Barclays Center, where they will play next season. “The transformation of the Garden will give us in effect two new buildings in New York."The All-Star Game will be played in Houston in 2013 and in New Orleans in 2014, leaving 2015 as the first open date. A decision will be made a year from now.
