Other than Deron Williams, Eric Gordon would seem to be the top free agent target this season. Although hurt most of the year --like Brook Lopez he's played only five games-- he's seen as potentially one of the game's top shooting guards. In a players' poll, he was ranked 13th in a list of players to build a team around. Williams ranked 10th.

So are the Nets interested in him? Yes, reports Sam Amick, listing them along with the Hornets, who have the financial advantage; Pacers; Suns; Trail Blazers; Mavericks and Cavaliers, obviously a long list that will be pared down before July. Amick makes one mistake, however. He writes that "New Jersey and Cleveland could be possibilities." By time free agency arrives, it will be Brooklyn and Cleveland.
