The losing continues, so the rumors arise. Buried in a column by the Bucks beat writer in Racine Journal Times is this little item...
While John Calipari has experienced remarkable success at the University of Kentucky, it’s hardly a secret he would leave the Wildcats for an NBA coaching position. The latest rumor making the rounds is that Calipari is in the crosshairs of New Jersey management. Calipari coached the Nets from 1996 until 1999.
Cal is close to Brett Yormark. He has written about his experiences with the Nets, basically saying he was fired because some players (Kendall Gill and Jayson Williams) were to out to get him and a 3-19 record in a strike-shortened season didn't help. There's been no indication that the Nets are unhappy with Avery Johnson.
